So, some scumbag terrorists thought it was a smart idea to attack one of the most important military base and kill all the competent eishi from all around the world because they want "True Freedom and Equality". Yeah, that sounds about right. Oh while we're at it, let's release these BETA speciments too because why not! I'm sure they're tame enough to be petted! What a moron.

But at least this will make the plot to be more interesting for the last arc. Too bad we won't get to see Argos vs Infinities match. In exchange we'll have Yui kickin' some ass with Type-00. Cannot wait.

Winter comiket can't come soon enough
This episode is obviously a deconstruction of beach episode. Fucking KyoAni. The very studio that gives us tearjerker Key anime such as Clannad and Kanon (lolnope) now brings the melodramatic mood to their latest work, Chuunikoi. Beach episode is supposed to be a happy-go-lucky episode with some nice tits and ass here and there. But instead in this episode we got so less tits and ass (though Shinka's tits and Kumin's ass are lovely) and more melodrama. Such a waste of airtime. Shinka's tits are the miracle of the universe.
3rd anniversary yay
Well that was unexpected. This blog hits three-year mark which means I already write bullshit in MINORU'S BLOG for three years. Three years! What a waste of ti- I mean, yeah great!! Hurrah!! I'm happy to be able to write things I want to write even though nobody really cares about it. And I'm absolutely blissful knowing that there's somebody out there in this vast world who's willing to take their time to read my posts.

I like writing. I like to convey whatever I have in my thought into a bunch of letters. That is why hopefully I'll  keep writing in this blog for many many years later, even though maybe one day I'll stop watching anime altogether. Who knows. There's always something to write.

This blog also achieved 150k views earlier this month. This is a pretty nice improvement. This year has been great so far. Thanks to you, all of you readers and the bots. Without you this blog won't get as far as this. Here's to another year full of madness ramblings and shitty review of animu/manga/vidya~~!
I want to write about The Walking Dead which is recently become one of my favorite series and because it's fun to talk about. My first encounter with the franchise was when I stumbled upon the game titled "The Walking Dead Episode 1" around five months ago. The title made me interested but I still wasn't sure what to expect. I found out it was developed by Telltale, which is one of the few developers that still actively developing games with adventure genre.

"So what?" I thought, "Probably it's just a boring point 'n click adventure just like those thousand adventure games created using AGS but with prettier graphics and maybe a bit zombies to spice it up". Little did I know that 'boring' was the most wrong word to describe The Walking Dead.

I tried the game. My first impression was it kinda feels like those RPG that featured choices in the conversation, except without the RPG elements. But then it turns out to be more like an interactive movie. Interactive movie with a good story. Once I got to the story without wasting time I got absorbed to its world and I unconciously put myself into the main character's shoes. Every choices you make will determine the course of the story. Sometimes it made me feel like a shit when I had to choose to save only one person and the other died horribly.

Oh yeah the story. So the story is like any other game with zombies, there's suddenly a zombie outbreak in the city and you as the main character has to make your way to the safety zone. The difference is you are not a government agent with powerful arsenal shoved in your ass. You are not a guy who is trained to fight zombies. You don't have any clue how to stop the infection. You're just a run-of-the-mile guy who has to fight in order to avoid zombies eating your brain.

Basically in this the-end-of-the-world scenario, your objective is to survive for another day. You must find a place to sleep, scavenge for food, and defend yourself against zombies or maybe other human. Also, you have a little girl to take care of. Some people in a certain image board jokingly called this game A Dad Simulator. That's not pretty far off.

The game is divided into 5 parts each called an "episode". The choices you made during an episode will carry the effect to the next and so on. For myself, my favorite episodes are 2 and 3. The tension and emotional feeling in those episode are the best.

Just recently I finished the last episode and got to the ending. It was yesterday, I found myself watching the credit roll with nearly watery eyes. Yes, it is one of those tearjerker ending. It also ended with a possibly sequel hook.

I recommend this game to those who want a game with good 10-hour storyline. Do not expect complex gameplay because you won't get it from this game. The graphics style is nice and works with the game overall, since it was based on comic books. It's probably one of my favorite game in this year.

(Oh yeah, I also follow the TV series. I already watched season 1 and 2, and still waiting for S3 to finish before starting it. I don't like cliffhanger)
It's over. After 110 episodes of space battles and political affairs, I finaly finished watching Legend of the Galactic Heroes. It is really, really great. Not even a second wasted in this show that I didn't enjoy. It is definitely the very definition of classic masterpiece.

The Witch's House (Majo no Ie) is a horror adventure game made with RPG Maker. It's pretty much similar to another horror adventure game Ib, might as well call it Ib's spiritual successor. Play it in the night with lights off.

The story follows Viola, a 13 year old girl who got lost in a forest on her way to her friend's house. She found a house which is belong to a witch, hence the game's title. I won't spoil the plot but one thing:  there is a twist at the true ending (there are two endings).

The game involves much more jump scare than Ib. I admit I was terrified several times, not only because the jump scare but also because of the atmosphere. The atmosphere in The Witch's House is nicely done with the music and sound effects. Also, there's much much more deaths in this game than Ib, which some of them are pretty gruesome.

Anyone who likes Ib must try The Witch's House. I'm not saying the latter is better than the former, they're just similarly good and has similar experience too. I hope there will be many more games like this in the future. I can use a good scare once in a while.

The game is a freeware, made by Fummy in RPG Maker XV. The english translation was done by vgperson (she is also the one who translated Ib) and can be downloaded here. She also has a very cool tumblr.

Can't wait for BDrip, or at least a camrip. It will be oh so glorious.

Okay, a Chuunikoi episode that focused on love letter and later a confession of a man. I expect it to be uninteresting but I was wrong. That confession scene reminds me of Onani Master Kurosawa. Haha.
Art by saiki. Yep, I also mistaken his art with redjuice's.
I saw a certain post on kz Livetune fanpage about writing a blog post with the theme 'Tell the world about Livetune' so I guess I'll try my luck. Not really up for contest or anything though, just want to share my love for Livetune.

As far as my experience with Vocaloid music goes, I've heard many great songs produced by various Vocaloid producers in many genres. All of these producers are talented men and women who pour all their hearts' content into the songs they are making. Some of them managed to grab my attention from the very first time I heard those songs sung by the virtual diva Hatsune Miku. They are ryo (supercell), minato, and of course kz (Livetune). I'll talk about the former two in other time, for now I wish to tell you, the world, about Livetune.

That was in the mid year of 2009 when I sat in front of my computer, clicked some links I found on net. One of those links happened to be a download link to Vocaloid song compilations. I've already heard about this Vocaloid thing but all I knew was it just a program to make songs and I have never listened to one before.

So I proceed to download the file and unzipped it. Then I played all the songs available from the compilations. Those songs were all pretty awesome, some songs caught me in awe, such as Melt and Packaged. These songs just couldn't get out of my head for a few days. So I ventured to find more of songs like those which I just listened to. Little did I know that it was the beginning of my long journey in the realm of Vocaloid.

Other than Vocaloid songs, kz is also doing some songs for human singers. Probably the most popular collaboration is ClariS. Actually, kz was already made songs for them since they were still went by the name Alice & Clara. One song that I still remember dearly till this day is Kimi ni Yume wo Miyou. Other songs included Drop, irony and nexus.

He also contributed in a doujin album TamStar Records Collection Vol.0 which he composed two songs each sung by Yun*chi and Yanagi Nagi (God bless her). The song empty which sung by Nagi ended up in my top ten Nagi's songs post which I made back then in 2011. Livetune's first single Kocchi muite Baby/Yellow is a split single with another one of my favorite producer, ryo. Those two songs are the theme songs of 2nd Project Diva game.

At the beginning of this year, Livetune release another hit Tell Your World which was also the theme song of Google Chrome CM. The CM was phenomenal and it also served as a way to introduce Miku to the world. The song are very catchy yet it also has a deep meaning. It is probably my favorite kz song ever now. The more recent single with Miku on vocal is Weekender Girl which also very catchy. Another recent single is Transfer but this one is with Megumi Nakajima on vocal. The PV for this single is rather unique.

The things I like about kz Livetune's songs are the upbeat tunes which usually are very catchy and easy to listen. However I also enjoy the slower one. Like I said my favorite song is Tell Your World but before it was Last Night Good Night. Whenever I listen to it, the song somehow always touches something in me especially on that high notes. Tell Your World made me feel like that too. I swear there are chills up my spine when I get to that part of the song.

Well I could really go on and on about this matter however my hands are rather grew tired to type more so I'll end this post right here. My goodness, now that I look at it this post is quite long for a mere fanboy's rambling. Oh yeah, I think I'll write about other Vocaloid producers in another time. A bit music post on this blog won't hurt. Now I shall take my leave, if you excuse me.

I'm sure the data gathered from this video is invaluable to humanity's plan against BETA
Muv-Luv Total Eclipse once again proved me that it is indeed the best comedy anime of the season. Alien where? Let's go to onsen at once! Just forget for a second that humanity is doomed and there is a plan to annihilate mankind from the face of the earth on the way! Who cares about that when there are bunch of hot military babes in bikini in front of your eyes!

No wonder we are losing this war.
That was a pretty damn good episode. I kinda like the ending where Rikka didn't suddenly become smarter and get a good score, but instead the overall score became lower. It's more believable that way.

I cracked myself up in the divorce scene between Yumeha and Touka. Kids these days are more mature than they used to be. Also, I didn't expect Dekomori to be a prodigy kid type. Fortunately her above average brain doesn't make her to be an annoying and cocky brat but instead a fun kid you like to play with. I'm not even a pedo.

Anyway, the club is saved thanks to Yuuta's effort. At least safe for now.
Who in their right mind thinks it's a good idea to start blogging an anime series starting from episode 4? I do. I am a faithful follower of 'three episode rule', so everytime I want to judge whether any show is worth watching I watch three episodes of it first.

So yeah Chuunikoi. I've heard a lot of people talk about how bitch Nibutani in episode 4. Of course by 'a lot of people' I mean a certain anime board from a certain imageboard. They described her like she just  commited unpunished crime. They went rage or whatsoever over her behaviour. I was preparing to hate her when I started watching the episode. However things were different.

I don't find her act towards the chuunis akin to bitchness. I mean, she was a chuuni too several months ago. But now she grows up. A certain feeling of remorse and embarassment were left in its place. So it's okay if  she tries to hide her embarassing past to moves on with the flow of life. I rather find her to be more interesting in term of character when her past self as 'Mori Summer' was revealed.

Now with the cast of Chuuni characters completed, can we expect more hilarity and cuteness overload from Chuunikoi?
You want a post about Kara no Shoujo 2? Here, have this post about Kara no Shoujo 2.
Quote from vndb:
Prewar-era Japan.
Deep in the snowy mountains of northwestern Japan, there exists a settlement called Hitogata, the Village of Dolls. On the night of the festival honoring the clay idol Hinna-sama, a girl is murdered.
The villagers all blame Hinna-sama's curse. One outside the faith has joined in the festival of Hinna-sama, and brought the painful death of the curse down upon themself.
October, Showa 32.
Two years have passed since Touko Kuchiki's abduction from her hospital room.
Reiji Tokisaka's younger sister saves a man who had tried to commit suicide.
He, too, is the most recent victim of "Hinna-sama's curse"——
As the country moves ever closer toward war, Reiji Tokisaka begins his investigation, clinging desperately to the hope that Touko can be saved——
And at the same time, a strange religious group said to have dissolved six years ago begins to move again, to put a certain plan into motion——
The curse will be carried out, whether by the gods or by human hands.
Holyshit, Kara no Shoujo is back! Expect more despair and cute girls getting torn apart!

It is implied that the sequel takes place after True End of the first game. You know how that one ended right? It is confirmed that once again we will be assumed the role of Reiji. Some characters will make comeback as well.

So here's what I expect from the sequel:
1. Touko.
2. More bizzare murders.
3. More suffering. Guaranteed.
4. More asshole antagonists. You know I genuinely hated the antagonists from the first one with every litre of my blood. I expect the same if not more from this.
5. Touko. The one and only perfect waifu material.
6. Everyone's and their grandmas' favorite imouto Yukari is alive at the end of game. Who am I kidding.
7. English release. This is the most important. Although I can try (and of course failed) to read the japanese version with the help of software and a little piece of my brain cell, the experience is just not the same as reading the english one because of more understanding.
8. Did I mention Touko already?

The release date for Kara no Shoujo 2 is February 8th 2013. Let's hope the world won't end at December because I need to read this. For the time beings, have these teaser pictures.

YE NOT GUILTY
I've seen many negotiators in the past, they usually use all kind of dirty tricks up their sleeves to seal the deal. Enter Roger Smith, a negotiator AND a giant robot pilot. When his negotiation has gone awry, he calls a giant robot out of nowhere and punches things until everything goes the way he wants.

The Big O is what I called the bastard child of japanese anime and western cartoon tropes. It sets in fictional city which is pretty much a Film Noir New York City. Roger Smith is pretty much Bruce Wayne with giant robot. He pilots a Megadeus (name of the robot) and defeats monster of the week. When he's not busy destroying the city, he is a gentleman who works as a negotiator. There's also a deadpan android, Charlie's Angel and a guy who loves tomato. But let's just leave at that.

We have come to terms
Despite the unexplainable ending, I like this show. See, I've never once find people talking about The Big O and I generally have no idea about this show except from what I read in the first volume of the manga (I have it in my collection). All I know about it were the neo-noir tone and Dorothy, the android girl. So I was really surprised when I found it pretty enjoyable. The plot at the end escaped me but the episodic content was the cream of the crop. Oh and one more thing, the soundtrack is lovely and so is the ending song. Overall I give this anime a solid 9/10.
What happens when two male seiyuu play vidya together? A lot of laughter and dirty jokes. Especially if one of them is Tomokazu Sugita.

Tokyo Encounter is a show where two of my favorite seiyuu, Sugita and Yuuichi Nakamura, play video games together and eat snacks. They also do all kind of nonsense talk and there's a segment in between transtition of one game to another in which they compete with each other in a challenge (e.g Guess from what game the playing music is). Sometimes they invite other seiyuu as well (even girls!) to play with them.

They play all kind of consoles and games from the old ones like NeoGeo or Famicom to the more recent one as well. The genre of the games they played varies from RPG, beat 'em up, fightan, hell they even play Love Plus+ in that one episode. And Sugita seems pretty hardcore in Love Plus.

Seriously, if you like Nakamura and Sugita, and you love video games, you have to watch Tokyo Encounter.
