Advent is the final part in the Berserk saga Golden Arc trilogy, in which the infamous Eclipse event took place. Though it is true that this movie is adapted closer to the manga compared to its TV series counterpart, they still cut several contentss due to time constrain, most notably the fight with Bakiraka and Black Dog Knights. Fortunately, this time they didn't mess much with the main plot. That means  we able finally to see Skull Knight in animated form.

The CG, while it looks much better that the previous movies, still managed to distract me sometimes. The rest of the movies is pretty enough, especially the Eclipse part, which successfully able to capture the sheer horror and nightmarish feel of it. This movies is, of course, uncensored. So you'll be able to enjoy it to the fullest, down to the demonic rape part, if you happen to fancy that sort of thing.

If you are somehow only watch the TV series version, and confused as hell with the ending (which ended right in the middle of the hellish part) then you may want to check this movie out. It tells you the aftermath of the Eclipse, about how Guts and Casca able to survive the event, Guts unescapable fate to fight countless demons and his determination to settle score with Griffith. This led to a hint to a possible sequel,The Black Swordman arc which hopefully continue to the Retribution arc.

In the end this movie is very enjoyable as the climax to the Golden Age arc trilogy. Those who like Berserk manga and TV series will be pleased with this finale. I think it's safe to say that the Berserk saga is finally getting the anime treatment it deserves.

Aww shieeet, 10/10 Kyoani! You guys sure know how to please fans.

So yeah, kinda late for this but I finally watched Chuu2koi OVA (or episode 13 some people say). It's continuation from the last episode with the cast are celebrating christmas party in Dekomori's fortress. A lot of things happen, most of them tend to induce a sudden heart attack to me. As usual, the chuunibyou battle is well-animated, making me despair because Kyoani will never do action anime ever again. Anyway, I'm glad this isn't the last time we see the cast since they already announced S2 is in production some time ago. So yeah, more chuu2 antics and moe overload.

The second season of Ore no Imouto have had its ups and downs so far, mostly downs but the latest episode has restored my hope in Japan. If nothing it implies the ending geared toward Kirino end. Even if not, at least Kirino will stay in her dere form for the rest of the show. Who am I kidding. It will have an open end because no one would dare to pull another Akasaka or Yosuga no Sora stunt. Let's wait for the last volume of the light novel instead, which will be released soon. Manami a shit.

So. Many. Feels.

Goddammit. So I've just finished watching Makoto Shinkai's The Garden of Words (Kotonoha no Niwa) which was suddenly came out of blue about three days ago. Like other Shinkai's works, this movie talks about relationship. And of course, like other Shinkai's works, it doesn't really end well.

As usual, the visual aspect is a top-notch. Just like what you expected from the master of scenery porn. I especially like the detail put into the rain scene. It makes the movie very moody and comfy to watch.

So yeah, why don't you start watching this movie right now instead of reading this silly anime blog. It's probably one of the most 'Shinkai' out of all Shinkai's works. I dunno what the hell am I writing anymore. I should just shut down this blog already. (Nah, that wouldn't happen though, sorry to disappoint you)

That horrible creature on the left is a girl. Yep, at this point I might've stopped watching this show already, but alas, my curiosity got the better of me and I proceed to finish another episode of Aku no Hana. Good riddance I don't even know myself anymore. What am I? What am I doing here?

So, uhm, I just finished Tiger and Bunny movie last night. I was expecting it to be a boring recap but turned out it was better than I expected. Sure, I got this sense of deja vu but surprisingly it has better pace than the series. There's not much to give in this movie beside more cohesive storytelling and a random new villain, still it's the same Tiger & Bunny I enjoyed two years ago.

Girls und Panzer was such a goddamn good treat, I kid you not. When I first heard about it I had my share of doubt like most of any sane person would. I mean, the premise sounds silly. However you can bet your own ass that Japan can turn any kind of silly premise into a wonderful thing. Girls und Panzer is one hell of a wonderful thing. Every episode packed a punch, especially the latter episodes. The pacing is superb. The battles are awesome and I can learn a thing or two about tanks in  the most fun way, even though I'm not a military freak type. The final battle is especially one of the coolest moment in anime that include tanks.

You think moe and tanks cannot be combined? Well think again, kiddo. Ever see a tank doing MULTI-TRACK DRIFTING? In this anime you can. Oh what's that, you want moe Commie girls singing Russian wartime song while riding a T-34 (CMIIW)? Look no further than this anime. You like both playing World of Tanks and watching Chinese Cartoon? Good, this anime is for you then! Everyone can be pleased. Only in Girls und Panzer.

The show was over, I went home with a satisfied face. Yep, Love Live was one big surprise for me last season. I was expecting a bland idol anime that only exist as a promotion for the CD and Love Live other goodies but instead I was entertained by the characters and the story. I wasn't a long time Love Live School Idol Project fan. I was introduced to this idol group when they released their fourth PV. I listened their songs from time to time but that is all. This anime actually made me want to collect Love Live merchandise. So I say this anime is a success.

I rarely seen anime where I love and adore all the characters but Love Live is sure as hell one of those anime. There is literary no character that annoys me, well maybe Nico sometimes but even she has some redeeming features that I like. The rest of cast are also great, with Nozomi as my favorite idol in the show. Another surprise for me is how the characters presented differently in anime compared to how I thought they're gonna be when I watched the singles PV. It's a nice way to keep me watching this anime every week.

As much as I want a second season to happen, I don't think the story can be stretched for another season. So unless Sunrise is going to milk this franchise further I'll be fine with how the anime ended. An half-assed written story for the second season will just ruin the miracle of this anime. Honestly I'm sad to see this anime ends because 13 weeks just passed by quickly, but every good things must come to an end.

Thank you Love Live and μ's for all the fun! I hope we will meet again someday, someday of my life!

This anime revolves around a young witch doing witch things. Kinda reminds me of Mahou Shoujotai, which still be one of my favorite fantasy anime. Little Witch Academia is part of Anime Mirai 2013 project, which used to be called Young Animator Training Project in 2010 and 2011. The episode is pretty good, it has nice setting and all. I don't mind if one day it'll get a proper series.

Finally Haganai NEXT ended. I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the second season as much as the first. It's basically the same mindless fun, no more no less. There's some noticeable character development, mainly with Rika. She's like a very different person she was in the first season. Oh there's also some "shocking" revelations with Yukimura and later Sena. New characters are quite nice addition to the already colorful cast too.

I had a little bit issue with Kodaka because of his denseness in some episode. It's fine for the first time but hearing him keep saying "Eh, what was that?" over and over again were getting really annoying real fast. Though it was later revealed why he acted like that. The end episode provides a bit hint for what the season 3 will probably about, if there is any (crossing my finger!).

Yeah, getting another season won't hurt. Maybe Rika will help Kodaka to achieve his harem ending which he dreamed of, a la To-Love-Ru Darkness. Or maybe Kodaka will man up and choose one of the girls, though I doubt that probability. Or maybe it'll be the usual harem shenanigans in which there's no change in tone from the previous seasons. Or maybe there will be no more Haganai. We don't know yet. Anyway, I enjoy this second season wholeheartedly. Though I usually never really like the genre, I have a soft spot for Haganai ever since I discovered the light novel two years ago. Holyshit, it's been two years? What am I doing with my life?

Hahaha oh wow. So basically all these times Kodaka was just pretending to be a dense motherfucker. He knew all along that those girls are trying to get into his pants. Now, normally I would be mad as hell but somehow I feel for this guy. I might be understand why he acted like that. I mean, if he choose a girl the foundation of Neighbor Club would crumble and I don't think he wants that to happen so yeah I think it's for the best. Still, there's still a probabililty that somehow a girl would end up with him and all we can do is waiting for the next two episodes.

By the way... I can't be the only one that notices how Rika is getting a lot cuter in S2 right? I even think that I might made a wrong choice by choosing Sena as my favorite Haganai (yeah, yeah I'm a Meat-fag). Rika's character is getting a well development in S2 and that makes her a lot better than other Haganai girls in my eyes. Though I don't really dig her changing her hair every damn episode. Just stick with above pic or this one:

Cultural shock

Thermae Romae is one of my favorite sleeper hit back then in Winter 2011 (hell, it even made into my 2012 anime picks for God sake!) so I couldn't contain my excitement when I saw a new episode on  my favorite torrent site yesterday.

So as usual Lucius travels forward in time to modern day Japan but instead of bathhouse he visits an animation studio. Hilarity ensues as he discovers the wonder of moe. It was a short episode but nevertheless it was great and made me all smile. Now about those other special episodes, if only someone subbed that...

Evangelion 3.0 in a nutshell

Haha is it time already? Well let's get on my impression of Evangelion 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo. Oh in case you're wondering, of course this is gonna be full of spoilers.

Hey looks it's everyone and their grandpa's favorite redhead tsundere. Now with eyepatch add-on for your fetish fuel!

Meet new Misato and Ritsuko. She's now the captain of a flying battle ship ala Yamato. No, really.

...And there he is, our main character which is probably one of the most hated protagonist in the history of Japanese cartoon.

Toji's imouto is cute.

Wait, his little sister? But she looks as old as Shinji? How that's possible?
Well it's because...

Yep, 3.0 took place 14 years after the event in last movie. B-but how come Shinji still looks like the same as ever?

The answer is LCL magic a.k.a. The Curse of Eva. I think the liquid prevents aging. Or probably it's just because they're Asians. I dunno.

Suddenly Rei clone bursting out to pick up Shinji.

The organization Misato is helming now is aiming to stop Shinji to pilot Eva again. They tried to stop Shinji.

But of course they failed because if they were succeed the movie would end right there.

Shinji went back to the good ol NERV headquarter where he met Kaworu...

...Cyborg Gendou...

....and of course naked Rei. No Evangelion anime would be complete without naked Rei.

Guess what was happening here. Protip: it involved something gay.

 DUN DUN DUN!! Here comes another big revelation: The Third Impact happened and it was triggered by Shinji. Apparently almost all of humanity wiped by it. Well shit.

THANK GOD THE WALKMAN SURVIVED THE APOCALYPSE!

Suddenly a shogi match out of nowhere.

 Fuyutsuki told Shinji a tale of her mother. Of course with some 2deep4u imagery.

 The following scenes are familiar so I'm just gonna to skip them.


Kaworu told Shinji that the only things that can redo his action and fix the world are two lances that buried in depth of terminal dogma of Nerv HQ.

They piloted the new two-seat type Evangelion, Eva-13 and headed to bring back the lances. Rei followed them as backup.


Wille sent Asuka and Mari to stop them. Fight is unavoidable.

Unfortunately the battle scene in this camrip is very blurry that I hardly can tell what happened in the screen.
Long story short all of these are according to Gendou masterplan to create the Fourth Impact. As Shinji got the lances, soon shit was tumbling down.

OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING I DON'T EVEN

YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS, SHINJI.

Fortunately, Kaworu saved the day! He successfully stopped the Fourth Impact from happening by sacrificing his life. (Is it just me or Kaworu is less annoying here than his counterpart in the series? I actually kinda like him in this movie, no homo)

His death is less tragic (in fact I laughed everytime I look at the screenshot) than in the series but of course our 14-year old boy main protagonist still scarred by the sight. Well watching your friend lost their head isn't really nice.

And so the world is once again saved by bunch of teenagers.

But wait! It's not over yet!

Rest in peace Walkman-kun. You've done well to survive Third and Fourth Impact.

Okay last note from me.

I think this movie is pretty good, might even better than previously two movies (since this one has much more new content) if only not for the slow start and the lack of battle scene. The movie started to pick up its pace at almost 1 hour which is considered really slow if you expected mecha actions. Another one of my complain is Mari is arguably useless in this movie even though she's the star (kinda) of the previous installment. I know we don't have much time for introducing all new characters but at least they could try.

I agree that this movie needs to be watched in glorious High Definition for full enjoyment. The last battle and the Fourth Impact scene are really blurry in the camrip. I can only imagine what it feels like watching those scenes in 1080p monitor (which I don't actually have). If you cannot wait for BD release and wanting to watch this camrip it's fine. It's not as bad as Shoushitsu camrip back then (which unwatchable by me so didn't). It has a little sound problem but still bearable. The video quality is well you can see it yourself in the screenshot.

I don't care whatever people said about this rebuild installment, I still enjoy it very much. I consider it really worth the wait. Last but not least, the bottomline of Evangelion 3.0 is, as any of the stuff from Evangelion series, what the fuck did I just watch?
